ABOUT PAUL
Paul Fisk is a Democratic candidate for State Assembly
in the 47th Assembly District. The 47th includes parts of Dane, Columbia
and Sauk Counties.
Mayor of Lodi
Paul Fisk has been the common sense leader of Lodi, WI for 12 years. The voters
of Lodi have elected Paul to six two-year terms.
Paul has led Lodi's efforts to improve the local environment, grow the tax base,
and stabilize the financial position of the city. He has supported
consumer-friendly policies both at the state and national level and actively
fought for responsible tax policy.
Since becoming Mayor, he's been active in the League of Wisconsin
Municipalities, and currently serves on the organization's board of directors.
Columbia County planning
Paul serves on the steering committees for the Columbia County Comprehensive
Plan and also Columbia County Land and Water. He has been on the board of
Columbia County Economic Development Corporation for 11 years; he was president
from 1999-2001.
Background with Alliant Energy
Paul Fisk spent 27 years working at Alliant Energy generating stations. He
retired in 2004 as Operations Manager of the Rock River Black Hawk Division. He
serves as a member of the Community Advisory Group and is on the board of
Wisconsin Public Power, an association of municipally owned electric systems,
including Lodi's.
In 2004, the Municipal Electric Utilities of Wisconsin presented Paul with the
Phillip F. La Follette Public Official Award. In 2003, he received the
Distinguished Service Award from Wisconsin Public Power, Inc. He has been a
member of the APPA Resolutions committee for several years and was selected to
be a member of the APPA Policy Makers Council in the spring of 2006.
Navy veteran
Paul Fisk is a Navy veteran. He attended the United States Naval Academy from
1967-1969. He was deployed to the western Pacific during the Vietnam War. In
1994, he retired from the Naval Reserve as a Chief Petty Officer.
Father and grandfather
Paul and his wife Sharon have lived in Lodi for 18 years. They have six children
in a blended family and 10 grandchildren.
